The Virginia
Council for Mathematics Supervision (VCMS) is an organization of
mathematics leaders in the State of Virginia.
Its purpose is to support and encourage excellence and equity in
mathematics education at the school, division, and college/university
levels across the state. More
specifically, VCMS: ·
Offers up-to-date information about research, issues, trends,
programs, policy, and practice in mathematics education ·
Provides opportunities for the enrichment of mathematical knowledge
and the development of leadership skills ·
Promotes the importance of designated mathematics education leaders
at all levels ·
Encourages networking among members · Collaborates with other stakeholders in the education community, and with business and government to strengthen leadership in mathematics education, and · Recognizes outstanding mathematics leaders |
